Located in the heart of Covent Garden, Japanese Ramen restaurant, presents a dynamic reinterpretation of the traditional Shoryu, crafted by Blenheim Design – Shoryu ramen preferred restaurant designers.
This stunning remix of the original concept brings a lighter, brighter, and bolder ambiance to the iconic 18th Century Grade II* listed interior.
Stepping into this Great Queen Street establishment, guests are
greeted by a transformed space that pays homage to its historical roots while embracing modernity. Led by Blenheim Design Studio, the restaurant interior design celebrates the remaining architectural features, carefully preserving the venue’s unique character.
Collaborating closely with Camden Council Heritage Department,
Maja Myall ensured that every design choice respected the building’s heritage and addressed structural challenges seamlessly. The result is a harmonious blend of past and present, where guests can dine amidst the charm of the past with a contemporary twist.
Strategic placement of Sake shelves creates intimate dining
nooks, while a captivating Japanese bar takes front stage, offering a selection of Sake, Plum Wine, and Japanese Whiskey. At the rear, an original garden wall is revealed and illuminated, adorned with traditional menu plaques in Japanese script, adding to the authentic dining experience.
Drawing inspiration from its Hakata origins, the restaurant’s
interior pays homage to its roots with striking wall graphics depicting traditional costumes worn during the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival in Fukuoka. This thoughtful design element serves as a visual reminder of the restaurant’s rich heritage and cultural significance.
