Despite its vast double-height glass front, giving off a fishbowl effect, Ole and Steen’s designers made a savvy choice by opting not to obstruct views into the interior. Passersby are drawn in by the tantalizing display of artisan breads and pastries, prompting impromptu visits to sample the offerings.

The café buzzes with activity as customers eagerly snatch up tasty snacks and vie for available tables and chairs, which are ample for its size. Nordic-looking staff warmly welcome patrons, reinforcing the authentic Danish bakery experience. A streamlined ordering system ensures efficient service without the confusion, akin to Starbucks but without the name mispronunciations.

Delightful treats await, from homemade rye bread with pear and blue cheese to chocolate-coated marshmallow sweets, all as delicious as they are visually appealing. While the ground floor may be packed, the mezzanine offers a quieter retreat, adorned with minimalist Scandinavian-style furniture and a rustic oak floor.
